Electric motorcycles with license plate and driver's license

Electric scooters are rideable by anyone aged 15 and over with a category A1 driver's license, up to 50 cc (50 m3) and a maximum speed of 45 km/h. These scooters require a narrow yellow license plate with a vehicle registration document issued by the German Road Traffic Office. Proof of insurance from the insurance company of your choice is required. In addition to mandatory third-party liability insurance, comprehensive insurance and additional coverage specifically for electric mobility are available. Wearing a helmet is mandatory. These electric scooters can be ridden by two people, provided there is space. However, this is not possible with a learner's permit.
