Electric motorcycles with license plate and driver's license

These electric scooters, rideable from age 16 with a category A1 driver's license, are approved for use on the Autobahn (motorway) up to 125 cc (125 m3) and a maximum speed of 110 km/h. These scooters require a wide white license plate with a vehicle registration document issued by the German Road Traffic Office. Proof of insurance from the insurance company of your choice is required. In addition to mandatory third-party liability insurance, comprehensive insurance and additional coverage specifically for electric mobility are available. Wearing a helmet is mandatory. These electric scooters can be ridden by two people, provided there is space. However, this is not permitted with a learner's permit.
